Founded in 2017, Cátedra Ana Hatherly promotes the work of one of the most important and multifaceted Portuguese poets, Ana Hatherly. In this context Camões, Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua and the Center for Portuguese Studies are pleased to announce a competition for 1 research grant of $1000.00 for Graduate Students in the fields of Portuguese Studies at UC, Berkeley. Preference will be given to applicants publishing research papers on Ana Hatherly’s poetry, cinematography, and painting.
These are one-time grants that may be combined with other Center for Portuguese Studies and IES grants.
Applicants must submit the following materials to ies@berkeley.edu:
1. A one-page application letter, including a 100-word (maximum) abstract of your research.
2. A short c.v.
3. One recommendation letter from a UC Faculty. Letters should be sent directly to cps@berkeley.edu
Deadline to apply: March 31
Awarded research projects should be announced by April 30.
Grant recipients have until May 31 to submit their papers for publication.
