Founded in 2017, Cátedra Ana Hatherly promotes the work of one of the most important and multifaceted Portuguese poets, Ana Hatherly. In this context, Camões, Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua and the Center for Portuguese Studies are pleased to announce a competition for 1 research grant of $1000 for faculty in the field of Portuguese Studies at UC Berkeley. Preference will be given to applicants doing research on Ana Hatherly’s poetry, cinematography, and painting.
These are one-time grants that may be combined with other Center for Portuguese Studies and IES grants.

Deadline: January 22. Awarded research projects will be announced by February 15. Grant recipients have until May 3 to submit research papers for publication.
Applicants must submit the following materials:
1. A one-page application letter, including a 100-word (maximum) research abstract.
2. A short c.v.
