IES is pleased to announce a study and research opportunity for UC Berkeley graduate students in the Humanities and Social Sciences, offered by the University of Naples - Federico II in the context of the Erasmus+ Mobility Program.
The University of Naples “Federico II”, established in Naples in 1224, is considered the oldest public non-sectarian university in the world. It is named after its founder, Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II, who conceived it as the higher education institution not just of a kingdom, but of a universal, diverse, and multinational community. Frederick II himself spoke six languages and is the author of the University’s motto, Ad Scientiarum Haustum et Seminarium Doctrinarum, meaning that the path to wisdom involves both drinking from the source of knowledge and the dissemination of teachings. The main offices of the University are located in the historic center of Naples, Italy, a city established by Greek Settlers in 470 BC whose historical center is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The University includes 26 Departments, 4 Schools, 50 Research Centres and 3 Academies, in collaboration with leading companies, such as the Apple Developer Academy. The University has exchange agreements with 264 partner universities and is part of a number of networks, enabling its students to access a wide variety of study programs abroad.

Applications are due in late fall for the upcoming calendar year and cannot be extended for the subsequent year.
