The University of Naples “Federico II”, established in Naples in 1224, is considered the oldest public non-sectarian university in the world. It is named after its founder, Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II, who conceived it as the higher education institution not just of a kingdom, but of a universal, diverse, and multinational community. Frederick II himself spoke six languages and is the author of the University’s motto, Ad Scientiarum Haustum et Seminarium Doctrinarum, meaning that the path to wisdom involves both drinking from the source of knowledge and the dissemination of teachings. The main offices of the University are located in the historic center of Naples, Italy, a city established by Greek Settlers in 470 BC whose historical center is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The University includes 26 Departments, 4 Schools, 50 Research Centers and 3 Academies, in collaboration with leading companies, such as the Apple Developer Academy.
