IES Board Member Leads Anti-Racist Action Plan

IES Advisory Board Member Terri Givens has been appointed to a new position at McGill University in Montreal, as special advisor to the Provost and academic lead on McGill’s Action Plan to Address Anti-Black Racism. Givens also joins the McGill Department of Political Science as a Full Professor.

A noted political scientist and author, Givens has published numerous essays and books on anti-discrimination legislation in the EU and far-right parties in Europe, including Legislating Equality: The Politics of Antidiscrimination Policy in Europe (Oxford University Press, 2014) and Voting Radical Right in Western Europe (Cambridge University Press, 2005). Her new book, Radical Empathy, draws on her own life experiences to offer practical steps to call out racism and bring about radical social change.
