Isabel Richter

Professor of History

Isabel Richter is DAAD-Professor of History at the Department of History and the Department of German.

She has published books on the history of left-wing resistance to National Socialism and the cultural history of death in the nineteenth century. Her research interests include cultural anthropology, youth cultures in the twentieth century, material and visual history, and gender studies. She is currently working on a research project on the transnational youth culture in the long 1960s and the boom of traveling overland to India.
