Calling all students!
Applications now open for 2019 Summer Research Grants
The Irish Studies Program is pleased to announce that it will award a $2500 summer grant for a UC Berkeley student to study or undertake research in or about Ireland. All registered UC Berkeley undergraduate and graduate students are eligible. Students must propose a plan to use the grant to conduct research in Ireland, enroll in a summer program offered by an Irish university or institution, or to participate in an Irish language program.
The deadline for applications is 1 December 2018
Applications must include the following materials:
1) A brief cover letter (1-2 pages) that describes your interest in Ireland and/or Northern Ireland and includes a proposal for the research or course of study that the grant will support. Please include a description of any prior coursework or other academic experience that might be relevant to your proposal. Also include the name and e-mail address of one recommender (preferably a UC Berkeley faculty member) who might be able to speak to your academic experience and your preparation for your proposed project (no recommendation letters are required, only contact information).
2) A curriculum vitae.
The successful candidate will be notified by December 15th, 2018. Students will be responsible for making their own logistical, travel, and living arrangements.
