David J. Vogel is the Soloman P. Lee Emeritus Professor in Business Ethics at UC Berkeley. He is a member of both the Political Science Department and the Haas School of Business and serves as editor of the California Management Review. Formerly, he was the Jean Monnet Chair of the European University Institute in 1994 and the BP Chair in Transatlantic Relations in 2000.
Professor Vogel has held visiting positions at the London Business School, Hebrew University, INSEAD, Stanford University, and the Bren School. He is also an International Research Fellow at Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation and a member of both the Scientific Committee at the Italian Center for Corporate Responsibility and the Advisory Committee of the International Network of Research on Organizations and Sustainable Development, France. Professor Vogel has written over 50 scholarly articles and published several books about corporate social responsibility, including Trading Up, The Dynamics of Regulatory Change: How Globalization Affects National Regulatory Policies, and The Market for Virtue.
