The Center for Portuguese Studies at UC Berkeley offers Fellowships and Scholarships to students of Portuguese descent that enroll at UC Berkeley. Scholarships and Fellowships are available for students pursuing Bachelor, Master, and PhD degrees at UC Berkeley. Fellowships and Scholarships are supported by the Pinto-Fialon Fund. The Pinto/Fialon Scholarships (undergraduate) and Fellowships (graduate) are open to Portuguese-American and Portuguese students at UC Berkeley (Portuguese-American students are defined as having at least one Portuguese grandparent.) Although the scholarship is not solely based on financial hardship, to be eligible for Pinto/Fialon support, undergraduate applicants must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form (available at any Financial Aid Office) so that their financial need may be determined; continuing students should have already received the FAFSA renewal applications. International undergraduate students are not required to complete this form.
Application deadline is May 15
