The UC Berkeley Institute of European Studies and the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation are pleased to announce a competition for a research grant for graduate students in all areas in the Social Sciences and Humanities at all UC Campuses. All grant proposals are welcome but preference will be given to projects in one of the strategic research areas of the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation, including The Future of Industry from a Social and Economic Perspective,  Work Profiles of the Future: Dual Education & Apprenticeship and Transatlantic Connections between Austria and the United States. This award will amount to $6,000 for three months, but students can also decide to apply for one or two months only, with $2,000 or $4,000 in funding, respectively. Students can apply to any Austrian university. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate in their application to already have a faculty research supervisor/contact at an Austrian university. Successful applicants will receive a temporary affiliation with the host institution in Austria. Applicants must be registered students at a University of California campus. Students will be expected to make their own travel and living arrangements. This grant can be combined with other IES grants.
