PSP Student
Research/Language Study Awards
These awards support travel to Portugal and the Azores for
research leading to a degree, and for attendance at language
and language/culture institute summer programs. Travel may
be supported to other destinations directly related to research
on Portuguese topics, such as travel within North America
to conduct research on Portuguese immigrant communities.
These grants are open (on a competitive basis) to all full-time
Berkeley students, graduate and undergraduate. Certain funding
sources are available only to students of Portuguese descent,
but any student, regardless of origin, is eligible to receive
a PSP grant. Fluency in Portuguese is not required to receive
a grant, but preference is given to students who are making
progress in a course of study in Portuguese if they are not
native speakers.
Application deadline is January
31st (the
following Monday when it falls on a weekend). DEADLINE
EXTENDED UNTIL Feb 11, 2008 at 10 am!
