John Connelly

Professor of History

John Connelly is Professor of History at the University of California, Berkeley. His primary research interests include Modern East and Central European Political and Social History, Comparative Education, History of Nationalism and Racism, and History of Catholicism. He has won many awards for his work in these areas, including, most recently, the John Gilmary Shea Book Prize of the American Catholic Historical Association, which was awarded to him in January 2013 for his book, From Enemy to Brother: The Revolution in Catholic Teaching on the Jews.
