Berkeley's Italian Studies Program (ISP) promotes
exchanges on Italian history, culture, art and society, working
closely with the Department
of Italian Studies at the University
of California as well as with the Italian
Studies Multi-Campus Research Group of the UC System (Jon Snyder, UC Santa Barbara,
Director). While not directly offering courses, ISP offers a
forum for the presentation of research on Italian culture and
society up to the present day, and provides a resource and center
of reference for Italianists of different disciplines and departments
teaching in California.
The Italian Studies Program
has co-sponsored the annual meeting of Italianists in a several
disciplines and from a wide variety of institutions in California
and is a founding member of the California
Interdisciplinary Consortium for Italian Studies or
CICIS. This website contains links to the CICIS
mail-list as well as to other resources for Italian
Studies at UC Berkeley and in California.
