Berkeley's Italian Studies Program (ISP) promotes exchanges
on Italian history, culture, art and society, working closely
with
the Department of Italian Studies at the University of California.
While not directly offering courses, the Program offers a forum
for the presentation of research on Italian culture and society
up to the present day, and provides a resource and center of
reference for Italianists of different disciplines and departments
teaching
in California. The Italian Studies Program has co-sponsored
the annual meeting of Italianists in California this year at
UCLA and
is a founding member of the California Interdisciplinary Consortium
for Italian Studies or CICIS.
