IES Irish Studies Program Summer Research Grants

The Irish Studies Program at U.C. Berkeley is pleased to announce that it will award two $2,500 summer grants for Berkeley students to study or perform research in or about Ireland. All registered U.C. Berkeley undergraduate and graduate students are eligible. Preference will be given to students who plan to use the grant to conduct research in Ireland, enroll in summer programs offered by Irish universities or institutions, or to participate in Irish language programs. 

Deadline: The application deadline if February 1.

Applications must include (as one file)

  1. brief cover letter that describes your interest in Ireland and/or Northern Ireland and includes a proposal for the research or course of study that the grant will support. Please include a description of any prior coursework or other academic experience that might be relevant to your proposal. Also include the name and e-mail address of one recommender (preferably a Berkeley faculty member) who might be able to speak to your academic experience and your preparation for your proposed project (no recommendation letters are required, only contact information).
  2. curriculum vitae.
