Professor
Rabinow's current research projects focus on bio-politics in global
perspective, with an emphasis on globalizing capitalism, post-genomics,
and humanism. The next stage of this multi-year project will take
place in France. He will be teaching at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes
en Sciences Sociales in 2001-02, where he will consider the manner
in which life, labor, and language are currently being assembled
within the French post-genomic machinery. His numerous publications
include French Modern: Norms and Forms of the Social Environment;
Essays in the Anthropology of Reason; and French DNA,
Trouble in Purgatory.
