dddddddsddd This website provides information on European languages taught at Cal. A highly competitive and globalized world requires multilingual individuals. This especially applies to Europe with its diverse linguistic landscape. The University of California, Berkeley, is privileged to be able to provide students access to this diversity. In addition to all major world languages, UC Berkeley offers a rich variety of less commonly taught languages for those willing to distinguish themselves on the global market, and a wide array of historic languages no longer widely spoken in Europe but with important cultural and scholarly value. Students should enroll through standard sign-up procedures, advanced or heritage speakers may sometimes be able to join sequences mid-year (contact the instructor for details), and non-students are often able to enroll through the “concurrent enrollment” option offered via the UC Extension on a space-available basis (again, check with the instructor for permission). Please check the online schedule of classes each semester for the most up-to-date class information (room, instructor, times, enrollment).
