The overall goal of my trip was twofold. First, I wanted to acquire a greater understanding of the ways in which universities in former East Germany are using network-based teaching practices in their language courses in order to foster relationships with other insitutions in the European Union and/or the United States. Secondly, I planned to propose a collaborative project utilizing network-based language learning at the University of Greifswald during the spring semester of 2002, during the course of which I will collect dissertation data. Both of these objectives were met, and I am currently writing course descriptions and grant proposals with the administration at the University of Greifswald in order to move forward with plans for the collaborative project...
