Italian Meatball Cookies

The juxtaposition of these two words may sound unappetizing, but trust us: these cookies are delicious. They are called meatball due to their shape, but they surprisingly sweet.

Ingredients
5 cups flour*
1 ½ cups sugar
1 cup shortening
3 eggs
5 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tbsp nutmeg
1 tbsp cloves*
1 cup milk
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup cocoa

Directions
Combine sugar and shortening, beat well; add eggs, then milk, spices, cocoa and gradually all of the flour and baking powder. Add nuts and mix well. Use your hands to roll dough into meatball shapes. Bake on greased sheets at 350 degree F, for 7-10 min (depends on size).

When cool, frost cookies with icing made of confectioners sugar and 2 tbsp. milk, mix until smooth. Frost with a butter knife or dip cookie’s top into bowl of icing, let dry. You may add cocoa to the milk if you wish.
