Cecile Gaubert has been Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics since 2015, after working as a postdoctoral scholar at the Haas School of Business between 2014 and 2015. She is also a faculty research fellow in the International Trade and Investment Program at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a research affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research in London.
Before receiving her Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University in 2014, Professor Gaubert studied at the École Polytechnique in Palaiseau, France and the Corps des Télécoms. She specializes in international trade and economic geography, with her secondary fields including industrial organization and applied econometrics. In her dissertation, she examined the effect of policies on the location of firms across cities. She is currently working on three papers, one of which is supported by the Clausen Center for International Business and Policy.
