New Graduate Conference Funds, 2007-08
1. Conference
Travel Grants
CBS now has a fund for graduate students
to help finance travel to conferences in 2007-2008. Each
semester we will provide four awards of $250 each towards
expenses (to be reimbursed after the event), but in exceptional
circumstances, other funds may be available. There are no
deadlines, but try to apply at least three weeks in advance,
to Candace Groskreutz at
the Center.
2. Graduate Colloquia Fund
CBS will provide $3000
each semester to fund a graduate student conference on a
theme related to British Studies. The conference should be
a one-day event, and organized solely by the students (we
will only administer the funds). In your proposal, include
the theme and intellectual aims of the conference; invited
speakers and UCB participants; a proposed budget.
Deadline
for hosting a Fall conference is August
1, 2007; and for
a Spring conference, November 15, 2007.
