On Wed. 9/22 the Center for British Studies hosted its Second
Annual Fall Reception at the Alumni House. Faculty, students,
staff, and such honored guests as Donal Denham (the Irish Consul
General), Margaret Moore and Arthur Mejia (Trustees of the Anglo-California
Foundation), and Berkeley's own British basketball star, Richard
Midgley, gathered to celebrate a successful year for the Center.
The Center's director, James Vernon, also paid tribute to the
students who won research fellowships and paper prizes this past
year.
